London, UK - Helen Goddard, 26, of Greenwich, south-east London, pleaded guilty to the five-month affair at Southwark crown court yesterday (August 18, 2009). The student in question has reportedly said she intends to continue the relationship once she reaches the age of 16 in a few months. Her parents are understood to be supportive of her wishes.

Goddard who has been suspended, was released on bail. Under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, sexual activity with a person under the age of 16 is punishable with up to 14 years in prison. Sentencing was adjourned until Sept 21.
