Flashback to 1995, Da Brat "Give It To You"  single/video was released following her career-launching hit song "Funkdafied." Notice the guest appearance by hip-hop notables like MC Lyte, Biggie Smalls, Jermaine Dupri...Can't Stop, Won't Stop DIDDY and comedian Bill Bellamy.

A lot has changed for all since and sadly for the star of this video. Da Brat (real name Shawntae Harris) is presently serving a 3 year jail term at the Arrendale State Prison for assaulting a waitress at night club '72' owned by mentor Jermain Dupri.Dupri has been criticized by some and publicly by comedian Katt Williams for not visiting Da Brat since she's been in jail. In recent months, he's shot back at critics saying "...those people don't know me. they should support her and go see her, but they should never speak my name in their mouth. That's just like everybody talking about Tiger Woods. We know nothing of the situation, everybody should shut up. do what you do. I felt a certain way about seeing Brat in jail, you know what I mean, so yea i don't want to see that, that's my little sister and I don't want to deal with a situation lie that."

  Da Brat's maximum release date is set for August 2011, but is eligible for parole February 2011. Thanks to good friends like MC Lyte who have been taking the time out to uplift Brat's spirits while incacerated.
